So here is my story... My name is Renske Fitzjohn. A Dutch girl, won over by this beautiful country and a very charming South African Man. My adventures around the world led me to Durban in 2005. Now I enjoy a very full and rich life with two gorgeous children and a lovely hubby!
My introduction to cloth nappies was reluctant and with my first child I had good intentions, but was too overwhelmed as a first time mother to follow through. But with my second child I was soon won over by how practical and cheap they were ! I wished I had given them a chance earlier ! It would have saved me quite a bit of money and done my conscience a world of good.
Over the last few years I have worked as a trainer and coach in several non-profit organisations around Durban. Through that came the idea to introduce the African community to modern cloth nappies and give up to five African women with an entrepreneurial spirit the opportunity to become distributors in their community. Many townships don’t get garbage collected regularly, so waste ends up in the ground, burned, or on the side of the road. On top of that many mothers don’t have enough money for disposable nappies. I believe these modern cloth nappies will be a solution to these problems!
